16.03.2009 Terraimaging, a Geokosmos company, to take part in the creation of the elevation map of the whole Netherlands
TerraImaging, the youngest member of the Geokosmos Group of Companies, has signed a contract with the Dutch Ministry Rijkswaterstaat for the second part of the Dutch LiDAR elevation mapping initiative AHN2 (Actueel Hoogtebestand Nederland). TerraImaging is proud to announce that they won the biggest part of the three lots, the northern region Groningen/Drenthe. Every company was limited to one lot. The aim of the project is the creation of a highly accurate Elevation Model for the whole country. The Dutch Ministry was one of the first to detect the benefits of LiDAR technology. TerraImaging has already been involved in the creation of the first nationwide Elevation Model of the Netherlands in the 1990s (AHN).
29.12.2008 Geokosmos to Complete a Gas Project in the Far East
GEOKOSMOS has successfully completed a new LiDAR project on the Kamchatka Peninsular, the Russian Far East, aimed at surveying a gas pipeline right of way. The customer of the project is Gazprom invest Vostok, a subsidiary company of Gazprom, the world’s largest gas company which possesses the world’s largest natural gas reserves. The project stipulates “…gas supply to the whole territory of Kamchatka Oblast. Phase 1. Gas supply to the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. GTU-2 Nizhne-Kvakchinskoye gas condensate field – automated gas distribution station of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky gas main. Pre-development of the Kshukskoye and Nizhne-Kvakchinskoye gas and condensate fields.

The 8th Annual International Conference and Exposition "Laser Scanning and Digital Aerial Photography. Today and Tomorrow" was held in Moscow, 10-11 December in the President Hotel. The Conference was organised by the Society of Contribution to Development of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (RSPRS) in co-operation with the Russian Society of Surveyors. Geokosmos Group of Companies incorporating Geokosmos, Geolidar, Geopolygon and TerraImaging, acted as General Sponsor. Microsoft Vexcel and Trimble acted as Platinum and Gold Sponsors to the Conference.

GEOKOSMOS and its strategic partner TerraImaging participated in the Technical Exhibition of ISPRS 2008 hosted by the Chinese Society of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC) in Beijing, 3-11 July. Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft® company, has signed a purchase agreement with Geokosmos — a leading surveying and mapping company based in Russia — for an UltraCamX (UCX) large format digital aerial camera system.

03.09.2007 New release of Geokosmos 3D Modeler software
Geokosmos is one of the world leaders in the area of geospatial data collection applying LiDAR and digital aerial imaging technologies. At the same time Geokosmos has always been committed to better performance. Guided by the customers’ need to have a fast way of reviewing and analyzing raw survey data collected by means of LiDAR and digital aerial imaging technologies, the Company developed in 2003 its own software called Geokosmos 3D Modeler.
