Geokosmos presents its technologies to the Bulgarian state railways senior management

On December 11, 2007 in Sofia Geokosmos within the framework of the singed agreement with JSC “RZD Trading Company” participated in the Round table organized by the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport, JSC “RZD Trading Company” and for the Russian manufacturers of railway equipment and service providers. The event was aimed at sharing experience in the field of railway construction and renovation as well as discussing a wide scope of issues facing at present the Bulgarian State Railways.

It should be noted that the event was held on the eve of President Putin and high rank officials’ visit to the Republic of Bulgaria and a series of meetings and negotiations of Mr. Yakunin, JSC “Russian Railways” President, with Mr. Mutafchiev, Minister of Transport, Republic of Bulgaria, the senior management of the Bulgarian State Railways and the National Company “Railway Infrastructure” (NRIC).

The Bulgarian Membership in the European Union is a key priority in the programme of the government. The development of transport and transport infrastructure is one of the priorities, set in the Programme of the Bulgarian Government. The implementation of Bulgaria’s main objective – the accession to the European Union highlights the necessity for a national transport system, comparable to a European one. In the light of the integration of Bulgaria in the European Union a new governmental programme started. It stipulates renovation and development of rail industry, modernization of existing railway lines and construction of new ones, bringing them in line with the relevant European Union standards.

At the event held in Sofia Mrs. Inna Bartchan, Deputy Commercial Director made a presentation focusing on the aerial multi-channel data collection. Mrs. Bartchan stated: “The suggested combined method of airborne laser scanning and digital aerial, infrared and radiometric surveying ensures high accuracy of collected geospatial data to be further used in various application areas of rail industry to solve a broad range of tasks in the shortest possible time, for instance creating cost-effective system of exploitation and maintenance of railways given increasing passenger traffic volume; design and construction of new railway sections”.
