Geokosmos to win European Union Bid

Geokosmos Ltd has won a European Union bid to create the gas pipeline information system for the Central Asian countries (Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan) and Kazakhstan. The contract was awarded to a consortium formed by the following international companies: Group of Geokosmos companies in Russia and Kazakhstan (one of the leading players in the Russian and CIS topographic and geodetic survey market), IGN France International (one of the top international consulting companis in the geodetic market and oil and gas industry) and Geomod (leading positions in the French market of Geoinformatics). Under the contract more than 5.000 km of gas pipelines will be surveyed and an information system will be created. The contract was signed at the end of the year 2005. First stages of the project were initiated in February, 2006. The implementation of this project will provide a highly efficient gas pipeline monitoring system to allow to manage effectively the gas supply in the Central Asia region.
