Geokosmos and TerraImaging Participated in the XXI Congress of the ISPRS in Beijing

GEOKOSMOS and its strategic partner TerraImaging participated in the Technical Exhibition of ISPRS 2008 hosted by the Chinese Society of Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC) in Beijing, 3-11 July. The companies demonstrated the results of their performed projects as well as the scope of provided services and applied technologies. Geokosmos laid emphasis on those projects performed in the Asian Region as the company has gained an extensive experience in carrying out the works in the Asian countries in different market sectors. Apart from that the company demonstrated the advantages of a combined technology of aerial survey with simultaneous use of laser scanner (LiDAR), large-format digital camera and oblique medium format digital cameras, and visualization using Aspectus – an in-house developed software product for processing the data (oblique and vertical imagery). TerraImaging demonstrated examples of combination of advanced remote sensing data with customised software tools to create high quality information products that are used in various fields, including water management, city planning, infrastructure mapping. Some of the techniques and methods offered by TerraImaging are unique ones, such 3D mapping for noise modeling and creating noise models of entire municipalities; another example is change detection – a method for a rapid and efficient mapping and detecting changes in a given area of interest. Peter Goellner, Vice President of Geokosmos, and Jan Willem van der Vegt, Director of TerraImaging commented on the joint participation: “ISPRS is always pretty special and rather scientific oriented. However this time it gave a good overview of what’s going on in the Industry and especially the huge potential of the Asian market.
