Geokosmos participated in the largest annual conference and trade fair world-wide for Geodesy, Geoinformatics and Land Management INTERGEO 2005 which was held in Dusseldorf, 4-6 October, 2005. The Conference slogan “Crossing the boundaries” reflected in the best way the importance of the event and its international status. This year the record number of exhibitors (515 companies) from 24 countries introduced geodetic surveying instruments, surveying accessories and supplies, hardware and software for Photogrammetry and Cartography, Remote Sensing software, Terrestrial Laser Scanning, Airborne Laser Scanning, GIS-software, Location Based Services, Internet GIS and Enquiry Systems. There is no doubt that a lot of INTERGEO 2005 participants are the leaders in the field of Geodesy, Geoinformatics and Land Management who set the development trends in the above-mentioned areas.
Among hundreds of exhibitors participating in INTERGEO 2005 Geokosmos has been for many years the only company representing the Russian achievements in the field of Digital Geodesy. Geokosmos’ exhibition stand attracted many visitors. Within the framework of the event Geokosmos senior management team conducted important negotiations with the company’s long-term partners such as Donald Carswell, Optech Inc. President, Iohannes Riegl, RIEGL LMS GmbH President, Edward and Lorain Read, Ohmex Instrumentation, Bryn Fosburgh, Trimble Vice-president. Milan Konecny, President of the International Cartographic Association and Peter Aschenberner, President of the German Cartographic Society visited Geokosmos’ stand as well and carried out negotiations with Sergey Melnikov, Geokosmos President.
