The 5th Annual International Conference and Exposition “Laser Scanning and Digital Aerial Photography. Today and Tomorrow” will be held in Moscow, 08-09 December, 2005 in the Novotel Moscow Center. The organizers of the Conference are Society of Contribution to Development of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (RSPRS) and Gazprom. The Co-organizers are the Federal Service of Geodesy and Cartography of Russia, the Federal Agency of Real Estate Cadastre of Russia, The International Cartographic Association (ICA), Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK), the Siberian State Geodetic Academy (SGGA). The general sponsors of the event are Geokosmos, GeoLIDAR and GeoPoligon.
It is expected that 200 delegates from more than 20 countries will attend the Conference which will serve as an effective tool for promoting scientific cooperation and research in Geoinformatics on a global scale. The Conference will provide the participants with a marvelous opportunity - a one-off forum to meet with prospective partners and discuss up-to-date Geoinformatics issues facing us today.
The Conference will focus on LIDAR or Aerial Laser Survey as well as Terrestrial Laser Scanning. These rapidly advancing technologies have a great impact on Geomatics, Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Cartography and Mapping. Nowadays most topographic and engineering survey applications need the employing of Aerial Laser Survey and Terrestrial Laser Scanning technologies.
